Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing something that did an ls of /usr/src/sys/i386/conf, presented the user with choices (say a tk program) and then asked for a couple of options. Then you hit GO and the kernel would be rebuilt for them on the fly and optionally installed. Kind of a kernel compiler wizard. Is there any interest in this from the peanut gallary? Shouldn't be too hard to put together, modulo error checking :-). And if you really watned to get fancy, you could have a config wizard that you could use to create a custom kernel config file, but that is harder to write :-). Comments? Warner
