Nick, thank you very much for this one. Just to be clear about this:

1. Do I need to do anything with the existing files in
/usr/ports/databases/gdbm _before_ fetching and untarring?
2. Is it best (essential?) to go into
/usr/src/contrib/perl5/ext/GDBM_File and do a `make deinstall' on the
current GDBM before making the new one - or doesn't it matter?
3. When the tarball is fetched, do I have to be in any specific
directory on the ports tree or does fetch put it in the right place
(presumably /usr/ports/databases/p5-gdbm)?
