"No Carrier" status indicates a cabling/hub/other network hardware problem.
In my experience, 99% of the time it's a shorted/badly cut/otherwise broken
network cable.
More than likely, all your other problems/error messages are coming from
this problem. At the least, you'll have a difficult time tracking them down
as long as your cabling is suspect.
