  I appreciate your comments.  A number of people have suggested both Linux
and FreeBSD in response to the article.  We will investigate the FreeBSD
solution.  I didn't know about the professional support, which is very
important to us.  

  I am a little worried that some of the commercial software packages port
quickly for the commercial Unix platforms, but don't seem to have solutions
for Linux or FreeBSD.  Is this what you have found?
