This points to either name resolution problems orFAM problems (or a
combination of both).  Verify that ping `hostname` works, if you have
either tcp or udp blackhole enabled, disable them, and if you have
gnomevfs2 built with FAM support (the default) make sure you've
configured FAM per the devel/fam pkg-message and the FreeBSD GNOME FAQ.
