Ok, There are three connectors (usually):

one internal 50 pin connector -> is there a cable attached to this one?
one internal 68 pin connector -> is there a cable attached to this one?
one external connector (either 50 or 68 pin, I've seen both) -> cable?

You can use any two, but not all three.
