No, it isn't: http://svn.freebsd.org/base/stable/9/etc/rc.d/dhclient http://svn.freebsd.org/base/releng/9.0/etc/rc.d/dhclient Even the des@ change that my commits were trying to fix http://svnweb.freebsd.org/base/head/etc/rc.d/dhclient?r1=3D178233&r2=3D22= 6345 isn't MFCed to any RELENG branch. > We can argue about the semantics of rc_quiet later. Since this stuff is HEAD-only, then, in my opinion, there is no need to revert the stuff: the policy of HEAD that it is a proving ground for the changes in the FreeBSD code, so it can have some rough points =66rom time to time. > Tons of people just care about the fact that the message is showing > up and don't really care about the semantics. For some definition of "tons", yes. If this change would be MFCed to 9.x, then "tons" will really be a large number. But since this is HEAD-only problem and, I think, we're getting closer to its solution with each second, we can aim at caring about the semantics and about the proper fix for it. Though, I can not fully understand the HEAD best practices and this stuff should/must be really reverted. If so, someone should point me to the right direction.
