The current tarballs are daily (if not sometimes hourly)
snapshots of Mark Crispin's (sp?) work on imap. He will be
freezing the 4.1 line of code in the next couple of weeks.

# I was under the impression that the archive changed it's checksum
# so much because each time it was a new version.
#
# At least it has reported a new version number to me whenever I build
# a new version and coinnect to it. Last one was 10.224 I think.
# (It's bound to be newer than that by now).

I think this number denotes a build level.

# I do notice it says its an IMAP 4.1 BETA IMAP server.
#
# Does this mean a BETA version of the IMAP 4.1 protocol ?

This just means that for the next two weeks or so people
will be able to grab the port sources and get a copy of
the source that actually builds/installs/works without
any extra headaches.

After the 4.1 freeze, we are planning to point the port
at the real MASTER_SITE and the frozen code. We will also
create another port for the bleeding edge code that will
constitute the version 4.2 code line (something like
imap-uw42 IIRC).
