So I got a new machine for "family" use. Installed RedHat on it, but the serial port for the mouse didn't work -- so I went back to what I know and put 3.0 on it. Now, one of the big features of 3.0 is the improved linux emulation, and given the current buzz that linux has, this is a WAY GOOD THING. But Linux emulation is not easy to install, as near as I can tell. The emulator drops right in from sysinstall, but the libraries that you need to do anything are a port. Now ports are easy, and all, but not nearly AS easy as telling sysinstall that you want linux emulation, and you want everything it needs to work. If I am totally off-base on this, please be kind, but it seems like a little marketing boo-boo to me. -- -mark <thompson@tgsoft.com> To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-advocacy" in the body of the message
