The port of word2x will convert Word 6 docs to either text or LaTeX..
it's in /usr/ports/textproc/word2x.  I think that WordPerfect8 can
read Word97 .doc files.. I haven't tried it myself because I've
finally complained to people long enough that they just send me plain
text =)
