Eoghan,
    That makes sense. Many things in Gnome require dbus AFAIK, which 
would probably introduce dbus and other dependencies that would need to 
be set in /etc/rc.conf.
    Feel free to just CC the list as I am subscribed to it and don't 
need additional email :).
