qpopper hasn't got its reputation for security, and authenticating a
different channel (POP3) than the one you open for SMTP relay isn't
exactly secure -- think "NAT gateway" masquerading for a lot of hosts
(on the client side).

How about SMTP AUTH instead of DRAC?

Not a qpopper problem.
