Type this at the boot prompt followed by 'boot': set hint.apic.0.disabled=1 If that works, comment out the apic line in your kernel config file and rebuild. Alternatively, you may just put the above line in /boot/loader.conf. As far as I am aware, OpenBSD does not have ACPI support. FreeBSD should behave more like OpenBSD in safe mode, because safe mode turns off ACPI support. Hope something in the above helps, Jon
