If your company's proxy server is part of a firewall, you will have to get
to know
your sytem admin quite well. The firewall, if it has been set up correctly,
will
block all manner of internet packets between your machine and the internet,
by
default.

Netscape itself is no problem - go to Preferences --> Advanced --> Proxies
and you should manage that part yourself OK.
