Andrew -

At this point, there are separate directories for gkrellm1 and gkrellm2
plugins. The reason for this is that the differences between the two
versions is so great that by combining it all into one directory, all
you're doing is combining two ports into one directory. Everything, from
the distfiles to the dependencies to the patches to the installed files
would be different. At that point, they really are two different
versions of the same program. They get updated at different points, and
a fix for one may or may not apply to the other.

Besides, there's nothing to prevent a user from having both gkrellm1 and
gkrellm2 installed. I do, so that I can test plugins for both. Having
two ports installed from the same origin creates portupgrade madness.
