Yes, I agree. The problem cannot be solved properly (and without possibly causing unwanted side-effects) in FreeBSD's driver. So this PR can be closed. If a desktop system or application (or part thereof) decides to use polling to detect disk changes, then that's ok (as long as the user has a way to disable it).
