Hello Mike,

MH> I don't currently have a laptop, but I need to get one soon. I'll
MH> probably be running XP/FreeBSD dual boot. I haven't found much into
MH> on the web, sorry about bothering the list. Had a few questions:

I use a Fujitsu B-2562 Sub-notebook, my criteria was super light
weight. The notebook dual boots WinXP home (bundled) and FreeBSD
4.7-Stable.

As I didn't opt for the CDROM Drive and Floppy, I had to install
FreeBSD via NetBoot off my FreeBSD Desktop PC.

MH> - What are some good laptops for FreeBSD? By this I mean
MH> - installs
MH> - suspend and resume work (or whatever power functions, I don't know
MH> if suspend to disk is supported)
MH> - 3d Video is supported (maybe) meaning non-nvidia, right?

I've pretty much gotten everything to work except :-
1. Touch screen
2. Lucent AMR Winmodem

MH> - The ultra-lightweights have some appeal to me, I don't know that
MH> I'm looking to replace my desktop, so the really small laptops
MH> seem nice, unless they're not usable for extended periods because
MH> of a small screen or keyboard.

For long sessions, i use an external keyboard + monitor.

MH> Also, how much memory should I get for XP? I know that it's a pig - I
MH> will be using powerpoint, but mostly just Office.

At least 256MB RAM, unfortunately the FJ B-Series only takes up to
256MB RAM. You might want to take a look at the S-6010.
