This caught me out too! After a *LONG* time, I've found that the upgrade
to the new sendmail requires the following to your local .mc file:

	FEATURE(local_lmtp)dnl
	define(`LOCAL_MAILER_FLAGS', LOCAL_MAILER_FLAGS`'P)dnl
