EWWWW this is going to get messy. You *do* need to have a long talk with your registrar(s). > domains registered at networksolutions.com provide incorrect ip addresses > for ns1 and ns2.purplecat.net even thought he forward lookup for these hosts > works fine, _and_ modifying the information for barbarafield.org with the > correct ip addresses at networksolutions does not fix the problem, even > though it claims that the update went through successfully: There is a quite simple explanation for this. For some reason the internic whois database still has the old ip addresses for the nameservers. From the looks of things nsol is correctly picking up the nameserver ip addresses from domaindiscover.com (the registrar for purplecat.net) when it creates the CNO files. I would probably start by trying a nameserver change to network solutions on one of these and see if it fixes the problem. Otherwise call network solutions and/or domaindiscover.com and get them to work through the issue. Tell them that there is an inconsitency in a nameserver host record between network solutions and domaindiscover (and the rest of the world). I think the final ball is going to be in nsol's court, but don't quote me on that.... - Forrest W.
