Yes.

Looks good, according to linuxprinting.org the Gutenprint driver should
work for your printer.

Ok.

How did you configure the printer under cups? Did you try the option
usb / usb no reset for the usb port used by cups?
Also check the cups logs (/var/log/cups/*)
