Hello!
I'm still having problems installing gimp, and it is the same
problem, even after I got the latest tarballs. I keep getting:

checking for GTK - version >= 1.1.13... no
*** Could not run GTK test program, checking why...
*** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log
for the
*** exact error that occured. This usually means GTK was incorrectly
installed
*** or that you have moved GTK since it was installed. In the latter case,
you
*** may want to edit the gtk-config script: /usr/X11R6/bin/gtk12-config
configure: error: Test for GTK failed. See the file 'INSTALL' for help.
*** Error code 1

I installed glib-1.2.0 and GTK-1.2.0 in that order before doing the make
install for gimp-1.1.2, and both went through with no problems. Another
thing is that I don't know where to find config.log or INSTALL files that
the error refers to. How can I fix this? Mail archives show this problem
to be fairly common, but don't really give a clear answer to it. Please
Help!

Thank You,

Mark Bermal
