Role:
    =95    Lead team of developers working primarily on internal applicatio=
ns
    =95    Reports directly to the Manager, VRT Department of Intelligence
    =95    Provides guidance to and mentors the individual members of
the development team
    =95    Architects applications for internal use
    =95    Responsible for implementing projects and ensures that
development follows a reasonable time line
    =95    Gathers requirements for projects and schedules
projects appropriately
    =95    Co-ordinates developers on multiple projects and assigns
developer resources appropriately
    =95    Develop and implement long-term strategic goals and
short-term tactical plans for managing and maintaining internal application=
s
    =95    Plan development projects and determine resource requirements
    =95    Co-ordinate with Team Lead (Infrastructure & Systems) to deploy
applications on appropriate systems
    =95    Produce reports for the VRT senior management as needed=20

 Requirements:
    =95    C.S. Degree or similar
    =95    5+ years of development experience
    =95    Strong programming skills in C and/or Java
    =95    Strong scripting skills in Perl, Ruby and/or Python
    =95    Strong Linux, BSD skills
    =95    Strong and effective communicator, able to understand the
business process
    =95    The drive to succeed and win is crucial
 Additional:
    =95    Knowledge of JavaScript, AJAX, NOSQL, SQL etc.
    =95    Experience leading a project or team of developers
    =95    Ability to translate requirements from non-technical users into
solid technical requirements
    =95    Experience using project tracking tools and source code manageme=
nt
systems (Redmine and Subversion are preferred)
    =95    Experience developing on or using FreeBSD preferred, Linux will
suffice
 Work Conditions:
    =95    Fast paced, rapidly changing environment
    =95    Works closely with researchers, analysts and other weirdos
    =95    Moderate to high levels of stress may occur at times
    =95    Extremely talented team members and mentors
    =95    No special physical requirements, if you can shoot a basketball
you will dominate
    =95    Constant internal training, heated discussions, ice cream and
libations
