(gnu make version 3.72.1)
gmake compiled with -O seems to be ok.
gmake compiled with -O2 -m486 enters itself in debug mode (lot of
messages), but gmake MAKE="gmake" has the correct behavior (you don't
have debug messages if you don't use -d).
Can somebody try this using gcc 2.6.3?
