If it has a sizable ram/storage space ( >16mb, perhaps 32mb ),
you probably could simply run a NO_STATIC FreeBSD normal system
on it. :)  Simply build all of /bin /sbin dynamically.

You really don't want to do this before IrDA gets into the tree.
