where is the discussion of development taking place?

Is it another mailing list, or private email?
(Having read all this year's mail archives, I'll put my neck on 
the line and say it isn't here.

Who's in charge of documenting _this project_?

I get the feeling that this project's bottleneck is reading hardware
specs. Are there any research problems that someone with time could look
at?
