if you use legacy /usr/local/dcc for dcc home, and do a portsupgrade, you have an option: ALT_HOME, which is described as being more freebsd friendly (it is), and it is an option, which is off by default (which is good), however, even if you leave that option off, dcc version dcc-dccd-1.3.86  will still compile with /var/dcc as home dir, despite the Makefile documentation and intent.

suggest updating do that in fact, /usr/local/dcc (legacy) is the default (like it looks like) and only usr /var/dcc if ALT_HOME is selected.
