2.3.3 is in -current, and has some useful features lacking in the 2.2
found in -stable.  Go for it (-current), the worst you can do is trash
your filesystems.  

As someone once said, "trashed filesystems are child's play -- if the
hardware ain't smoking, it's running too slow."
