IBM Aptiva - 550 MHz Athlon, 96M Ram, X 3.3.6, Netscape Communicator 4.7,
native FreeBSD version.

>Description:

The current version of flashplugin for Netscape will cause Netscape to
crash when some pages are viewed.

>How-To-Repeat:

Compile and install the Flash plugin for FreeBSD Netscape, in this case it
will be used with Communicator 4.7. Now visit a webpage such as
www.cartoonnetwork.com - after a second or so as the page loads, it will
attempt to switch to the flash version of the page, at which point
Netscape will immediately exit with no error/crash dialogue.

>Fix:

Don't install the FreeBSD flashplugin, or use the Linux version of
Netscape, and the linux version of the plugin. This combination does not
crash. Attempting to use the Linux version of the flashplugin with
FreeBSD netscape of course produces an error.
