Greetings,

I'm trying to install FreeBSD 4.0 on my computer which has a Compaq 2x =
dvd
drive/20x cdrom. The bios supports booting from the cd-rom, but when it
tries to boot from the cd I get this message:

"boot from atapi cd-rom -failure"
"No /boot/loader"

At first I thought FreeBSD just didn't support the drive, but then when =
I
made the boot floppies, and booted up that way, when it loaded the =
kernel,
it did detect the drive. But it won't let me install from it. What =
gives?

Thanks for you help,
Spencer
