Im trying to get an Intel-based box to boot on a FreeBSD 5.1 kernel (generic) yet I seem to be having issues doing this. I am using a SATA drive and frankly, Im unable to find anything on google. Here's the output from dmesg for the SATA device: atapci1: <Intel ICH5 SATA150 controller> port 0xdc00-0xdc0f,0xe000-0xe003,0xe400-0xe407,0xe800-0xe803,0xec00-0xec07 irq 11 at device 31.2 on pci0 the drive: ad4: 76319MB <ST380013AS> [155061/16/63] at ata2-master UDMA33 Is there anything special that I need to add to a GENERIC kernel for this box to be able to run a generic kernel? I've given it a couple of tries and none of them work. Fails to mount root. Any suggestions and/or pointers are more than welcome. On a reply, please make sure to CC me as I am not currently on this mailing list. Thank you. Nick
