What is "slow" about it?  Do you see large latencies when you try and
type interactively in telnet?  Does it take a long time to connect,
but then work at full speed?  Are FTP transfers much slower than you'd
expect over your LAN?  Be more specific, please -- there are lots of
possibilities.
