Howdy,

Running 4.3-Stable with a custom kernel config here. When playing MP3's
for an extended time using XMMS my system will lock solid. No response from
the keyboard other than an ability to turn my numlock light on and off.
Totally unable to login remotely either. Only way to bring the system back
is to do a hard power down.
I'm pretty convinced I'm not dealing with an interrupt problem. This is
the second sound card I've installed, and both have had the same problem.
This one hasn't been quite as bad, as this lock up problem has been more
intermittent. Presently have a SoundBlaster32 in there.
It'll play MP3's just fine for hours, and even do KDE noises as well. Then
with no warning, total lock up. There doesn't seem to be any set thing I can
do to recreate the problem, nor do I see any errors being generated. Well,
other than a ton of fragmentation and corrupted files from having a hard
reboot. Yes, I am running SoftUpdates.

Two basic questions for all this. First off, is anyone else out there who
is using FreeBSD as a desktop machine able to play MP3's on any player for an
extended period of time? Secondly, is there someplace specific on my system
that I should be looking to see if I can track this down? I'd like to put in
a bug report, but as you can see from my description I don't yet have enough
to put one together. Any help at all would be appreciated.

Later on,
