type "/usr/games/fortune", or add "/usr/games" to PATH and type
"fortune". I guess you want to see it automatically when you log in
though, in that case add it to ~/.profile. Are you saying your login
shell is /bin/sh? I don't know how you stand that, I prefer a rather
more advanced shell (except for root, but then you shouldn't log in as
root and when you do you probably have other things on your mind than
reading fortunes).
