I am wondering if there is a way to suppress pppd from announcing itself
on all terminals when opening or closing a connection. For example, if I
have two or three xterms open in an X session, and begin a pppd
connection, I get a message on all the terms that pppd is opening, the
ip address, etc. It's not a big deal, but it's just a nuisance to have
those messages appear over an open file. Thanks,
