Actually, you should be able to squeeze maximum performance from
the drive with a plain U2W (80MB/s) adapter.  U160 is way overkill
for a single drive, and U320 would be even more so.

According to the data sheet, the fastest hard drive IBM currently
seems to be shipping has a sustained data rate of 36.6-52.8MB/s:

Other manufacturers can't be far off.
