The following reply was made to PR kern/97265; it has been noted by GNATS. From: Gavin Atkinson <gavin.atkinson@ury.york.ac.uk> To: bug-followup@FreeBSD.org, var@schellong.biz Cc: Subject: Re: kern/97265: System hangs at the end of shutdown -h now Date: Thu, 24 May 2007 17:54:24 +0100 Hi, It sounds like your system is doing exactly what you are telling it to do. "shutdown -h now" should cause your machine to halt, and is. If you want it to reboot, use "shutdown -r now"? Or am I missing something? Also, you mention that you are using a custom kernel. What differences are there between that and GENERIC? Thanks, Gavin
