You have failed to prove that I was incorrect.  The errors that you are 
seeing are caused by the kernel PPP stack not handling data quickly 
enough to keep up with the incoming stream. 

Whether this is caused by your CPU being too slow, or some other factor 
such as load elsewhere, the point remains.
