We were at Matt's place working on a brain-stretching problem I'm 
seeing...  As we went on with these small things the 
problem got harder and harder to see, but as of an hour ago we hadn't a
definative smoking gun....


the good news is that the KSE kernel seems to work on an SMP machine
as well (which I have not been able to test since January)
