Hmmm, let me just clarify this a bit:

I have no intention of making a 2.2.9 and never did. I'm talking
about grabbing the latest 2.2 snapshot, a snapshot which only exists
because nobody got around to switching the 2.2 snap server off after
2.2.8 came out and saw no reason to do so before the branch. Now that
we have branched, an event which more normally happens coincidently
with the last release candidate being made, this issue has come up.

That's all. There were no prior intentions here to communicate as
this is a pure spur-of-the-moment decision. :)

Well, the 2.2 snaps have already ceased, though I suppose if somebody
out there wants to roll a newer one and ftp it to me, that would be
fine also. I've just rolled my 2.2-S machine over to 3.0S in
preparation for a new series of releases, so you'll have to forgive me
if my own focus has shifted entirely off of 2.2 and I was hoping to
make this a lot simpler by using the final 2.2 SNAP. :) Aside from
that, what do you feel you guys need time to work on?
