I'm having slightly more trouble than usual making boot.flp fit on a
1.44 MB floppy. For reference:

> ls -l 3.0.0-19990106-SNAP/floppies/
total 11592
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 256 Jan 7 15:53 CHECKSUM.MD5
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 2392 Jan 7 15:53 README.TXT
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 1474560 Jan 7 15:52 boot.flp
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 1474560 Jan 7 15:53 fixit.flp
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 1474560 Jan 7 15:50 kern.flp
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 1474560 Jan 7 15:38 mfsroot.flp

which is rather more in accord with my (possibly naive) expectations.
(Yeah, I confess that floppies are a rather unnatural medium for me
anyhow....)

(One of the reasons I'm messing with the SNAP is to find out if the
a.out compatability libraries are in /usr/lib/compat/aout or not; in
previous SNAPs, they seem to have been in places such as
/usr/lib/compat, which seemed a tad awkward.)

Clues, hints, and pointers cheerfully received. (And I'm on-current, so
there's no special need to send to both addresses.)

Thanks,
david
