If I missed a "heads up" in -stable, I'm sorry, but I can't find anything
relating to this in the mailing list archives for either -questions or
-stable, at least not by searching for `bdevsw'.

I just (about 9:30AM EST) cvsuped the latest -stable bits and made world;
no problems at all. I then compiled and installed a new kernel which
panics immediatley after the device probes (where it should say `changing
root device to...') with `panic: root dev has no bdevsw'.

I also just tried updating the boot blocks. The files in /usr/mdec were
rebuilt today and I did a `disklabel -B sd0'; it made no difference.

I'll include the boot messages for the previous kernel (which I've saved)
below; if any other info in needed, I'll be happy to supply it.

My root device is listed in /etc/fstab as /dev/sd0s1a.

Help?
