Sorry, didnt mention this, but it's been tested already with the exact
same result.

Yes, of course I have checked this. 
107  ??  Is     0:00.03 /usr/sbin/lpd
lpq would also warn if you dont have any lpd running with 'Warning: no
daemon present', but thats not the case for me.

Mine only responds to port 9100.

Not possible to telnet to port 515 since port 9100 is the only open port
on my jetdirect.
