The following configuration works for FreeBSD 53Beta 4/5:

default:
 set device PPPoE:fxp0
 set speed sync
 add default HISADDR

myisp:
set authname myid
set authkey mypass

ppp cofiguration in rc.conf:
ppp_enable="YES"                                                                           

ppp_mode="ddial"
ppp_nat="NO"  ppp_profile="myisp"
