I have one of those incompetent KVM switches, and to get out of the
out-of-sync situations I usually can just kill moused and then restart
it. Does that accomplish nearly the same thing? If so, it might help
with my particular KVM switch (Belkin OmniCube 4-Port).

My main problem is, I think, that I have a Microsoft Wheel Mouse
attached to this KVM switch, which is then hooked up to yet another
dual-user KVM switch, which has a regular old Logitech mouse for the
other user station. If I switch between user stations on my primary
Windows NT server, it also has sync problems, but it fairly quickly
detects the problem and adjusts accordingly (Event Log entries
actually show up to this effect). Now, if I switch back to using my
workstation here with the Microsoft Wheel Mouse, and Windows NT still
thinks it is talking to a Logitech mouse, it is going to screw with
this mouse until it resets it again. At that point, if I switch back
to my FreeBSD desktop is usually when I get the out-of-sync problems.
