This is something new to me, I hadn't had to worry about the difference between wide and ultra wide. I have the IBM DCAS 34330W drive already, I think that's a wide drive. I'm looking at the web page now for the 34560W, and it doesn't say ultra either. It says that the interface has 2 modes, one with LVD and one without it. Doesn't seem to be too well defined as to what the non-LVD mode is. Guess I'm going to find out tho, I went ahead and ordered it. I really liked the 34330, and I understand the 34560 is as cool as the 34330W is. Being cool is important to me, 'cause I run SMP, and I don't need melting processors. Extra fans are extra loud. Thanks for all the help, everybody, the response has been remarkable, even for FreeBSD. I sure appreciate it. ----------------------------+----------------------------------------------- Chuck Robey | Interests include any kind of voice or data chuckr@picnic.mat.net | communications topic, C programming, and Unix. 213 Lakeside Drive Apt T-1 | Greenbelt, MD 20770 | I run picnic (FreeBSD-current) (301) 220-2114 | and jaunt (Solaris7). ----------------------------+----------------------------------------------- To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-scsi" in the body of the message
