We've got some old Alphas down in the lab. The keyboard actually has "esc" written on it, but it is in between the '~' and '`'; IE it is a third function on the same key. AFAIK nobody ever figured out how to make that key generate and escape without totally remapping it (and losing either '`' or '~'). This keyboard also has a mostly useless (and large) "go" key and a "help" key that IIRC was just wired to F1. The backslash on this keyboard was where you would expect the left half of the "enter" key to be. One of the first things most people did with their accounts was to remap F12 to escape (using pico), which is a suboptimal solution at best. -- _ _ _ ___ ____ ___ ______________________________________ / \/ \ | ||_ _|| _ \|___| | Jason Andresen -- jandrese@mitre.org / /\/\ \ | | | | | |/ /|_|_ | Views expressed may not reflect those /_/ \_\|_| |_| |_|\_\|___| | of the Mitre Corporation.
