I also have mixed feelings about this.  I dislike the code that was removed=
.=20
But the fact that 240/4 or 10/8 used to mean something useful and now mean
something not useful suggests that the quoted bit of code should be restore=
d.=20
Another option might be to warn if the pattern specified has bits not under=
 the
mask (i.e. in the "host part").  But I think the best option is to restore =
the
quoted code.
