hi! how do i disable the autosuspend feature of apm?

my machine has two suspend modes, suspend and hybernate. hybernate
works and suspend doesn't. when the battery reaches a certain level,
the BIOS hybernates the system and that works fine, but before that
happens, the system enters suspended state (i think the apm software
does that) and the system hangs. i can't disable apm entirely since that
blows the hybernate feature also.

thanks,

-oscar
