https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=193119 Bug ID: 193119 Summary: Porters handbook, section 3.4, port testing is outdated Product: Documentation Version: Latest Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: Needs Triage Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: Documentation Assignee: freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.org Reporter: marino@FreeBSD.org https://www.freebsd.org/doc/en/books/porters-handbook/porting-testing.html This section looks outdated to me: Procedure 3.1. Recommended Test Ordering It doesn't mention "make check-plist" or "make stage-qa". The "make check-orphans" I believe is part of "make check-plist". This is important to fix because I ask a lot of people to prove their new port works, they follow these instructions, but still errors pass that could be caught. Somebody should look this over to see if better testing on new ports can be had (in the absence of poudriere) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
