If you mean by recompiling the applications in question, often you can.
Take a look at MacPorts or Fink. Those are package managers for Mac OS X
which contain a lot of applications you normally see on Linux and
FreeBSD.

If you mean running Linux executables on Mac OS X, you cannot. Linux
uses a different binary format as Mac OS X.
